The cables design on the Hue system in general are excellent. Be advised that the additional cable sold separately come in lengths: 8' (2.5m) and 16'. Only the 8' cable comes with a T-connector which can not be purchased separately. It is probably best to order all lights first as they come with 16' cables and T-connectors and assess if you have all you need to complete the install. If not, you should order any addition 8' cables with T-connectors as needed. I suspect Philips will have to make T-connectors available as some installs will require more of them but not necessarily more 8' cables.
