I bought these the day it came out and was told after the fact that "hopefully they restock within the next three weeks" so I requested my order be cancelled, at which point the bulbs magically shipped within a few hours! But shadiness aside, the bulbs themselves arrived well packaged and in mint condition. They are absolutely much brighter than the 840 lumen hues I already had. Still not really comparable to traditional 100w led bulb brightness but much much closer to that than ever before, and the convenience and reliability of the smart bulb makes it a worthy compromise in my book.
Great peak brightness; wish it dimmed more

So far I do really like them. Solid construction, super bright light which is the main thing I needed and 60w equivalent just didn't provide enough light. Somethings to note. The color is much more yellow than white. Like the old incandescent bulbs. The size is large. The light dome for the ceiling fan i am using these in does not fit. (Doesn't bother me) While dimmable, even at 1% these are still fairly bright. Not a huge issue but definitely something that should be mentioned.
Bulbs physically too large to fit in many lamps

Bulbs are significantly larger than normal bulbs (especially their height) and don't fit in many lamps or stick too far above the lamp so that the bulb is visibly exposed. I had been waiting for a higher lumen bulb for a long time , but this was a failure. I would not recommend buying them unless you are certain your lamp has the room to accomodate these large bulbs.
Brighter, but hold out in hopes of an update.

I've been waiting for a brighter bulb offering from Hue for some time. Excited for this to finally arrive, I installed it in our family room right away. I'm disappointed that you cannot adjust the color temperature at all. It is a bit too warm and conflicts with the other (Hue) bulbs in the room. I hope Philips will update this with temperature control.
Disappointed - these are yellow not white!

Bought one of these to brighten up my office area, as the Hue Ambiance A19s weren't getting the job done. I figure hey, this bulb is 1600lm compared to the 800lm of the A19s, and it says white light so it'll help with my focus...well, these bulbs don't put off "white" light, they put off yellow, like the color of the stars for this rating.
Nice and bright!

Awesome brightness - big money saver to light an area with just one bulb instead of two or three. However, there is no nightlight setting. When I crest a routine to turn on the nightlight before I wake up in the AM, it just turns on at about 50% brightness! Not good. Otherwise it’s fine, color is nice, very pale yellow.
Soft white? Just a tad too yellow for me

No lie, I’ve been looking for a brighter Hue bulb so when this got released, I jumped on it.. it is indeed brighter than my starter kit color changing bulbs, but I wish I could at least adjust the tone and not just the brightness.. still a great bulb, i guess my thought of what ‘soft white’ means was different
Pairing/Connecting to a Fire TV Cube

This smart bulb will not pair with the Fire TV Cube Alexa. I know the Alexa app is the only app and should work for any Alexa Device. But it would only pair with the echo dot I had in another room. When I disconnected the echo dot. The Hue would not pair with my Fire TV Cube no matter what I tried.
Very dissapointed!

I bought this one online thinking it's has variable color temp. Warm light is not ok for me... and the not so funnmy thing is that Philips has this product only in 2700K version... It is soo SAD! I am waiting for a 2700k to 6500K 1600lm version... then i will change all the light bulbs in my house.
